Reflector and Detector CupLids are essential components in advanced optical packaging, designed to maximize light management and device performance across a broad spectral range.
Materion offers these space-saving, surface-mount photonic packages with integrated reflective and filtering features, optimized for edge-emitting laser diodes, LEDs, photodetectors, and MEMS devices.
Reflector CupLids
Feature 45° angled aluminum reflector sidewalls combined with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings on a ceramic submount (alumina or AlN). This design enhances light extraction efficiency in UV, visible, and near-infrared wavelengths while providing excellent thermal management and hermetic sealing. Fully finished with tack-welded solder preforms, these CupLids simplify assembly and ensure reliable performance.
Detector CupLids
Tailored for near and short-wave infrared photodetectors (905–1550 nm), incorporating high-transmission cavity windows with effective out-of-band blocking filters. These hermetic packages protect sensitive photodiodes and MEMS devices while maintaining excellent heat dissipation on AlN submounts. Available with various narrowband filter options and solder preforms, Detector CupLids support automated assembly.
