Our UV filters are specially designed to control ultraviolet light with great precision. They allow the right UV wavelengths to pass through while blocking harmful or unwanted rays. These filters cover a wide range of UV light, from deep ultraviolet up to the visible spectrum, and maintain excellent performance even in challenging environments like high heat, humidity, or prolonged exposure to UV radiation.
UV-Guard™ XB filter
This filter offers extremely high UV blocking power, better than many standard filters on the market. It uses advanced coating technology to block UV light very effectively, while also providing optional infrared (IR) blocking. Made on durable borosilicate glass that can withstand high temperatures, making them ideal for demanding applications such as projection display systems, sensors, and other instruments that require precise UV control.
UV/IR-Blocker and UV-Blocker
These filters block harmful UV light and, in some cases, infrared (heat) radiation while letting visible light pass through clearly. They protect sensitive equipment and improve light quality without changing colors. Made from heat-resistant glass, they work well in lighting, fiber optics and medical settings.
Materion's range of UV filters includes different types, such as bandpass filters that allow only a narrow range of UV light through, longpass filters that block shorter wavelengths while letting longer ones pass, and UV-Blockers that effectively block harmful UV light while maintaining high visible light transmission. This variety means we can provide tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of different industries and applications.
Thanks to careful manufacturing and strict quality control, these filters have low light loss and high blocking efficiency, which helps improve the clarity and accuracy of optical systems. They are widely used in medical devices, industrial UV curing processes, forensic analysis and automotive leak detection, among others.
